Dear Fifth Grader,
Get ready for a year filled with excitement and adventure. Prepare to work hard and enjoy the journey. We will learn about our brains and how important it is to have a growth mindset. Throughout this year; you will embrace uncertainty, seek new experiences, and broaden your repertoire as you understand others as well as yourself. Here is what I know for sure: we are going to have an amazing year together, we are going to accomplish some tremendous goals and you will be well prepared for middle school by the time the school year is over. Most of all, we will make memories!
Our classroom blog is a place for you to come for communication, daily homework, important calendar dates, things to explore and web sites to practice on. We have many, many different topics and targets to cover, if you search through our classroom blog you may be able to figure out what a few of those are. Spend time exploring and feel free to join. We also have a Class Twitter Account located on the right hand side. Last year, I primarily used that to post happenings n our class.
You have some homework to bring on your first day back to school. Please bring an empty cereal box for an upcoming project. Another assignment is to complete this survey about multiple intelligences . We will learn how we all have different "smarts" and different strengths. We will build on the strengths, as well as develop those that are not as strong. There are no right or wrong answers. Please take the survey and print the result at the end to bring back to school. Here is the link,Multiple Intelligence Survey Be thoughtful when answering the questions. Write your name on your result and bring it to class or if you have a google doc account, you may save the results there.
Your parents also have homework that they will need to complete and return. Have them complete the sheet that is titled, In a Million Words or Less…here is the link.In a Million Words or Less....completed assignments may be e-mailed to me or brought in, on or before September 12th .
I look forward to meeting you on Thursday,August 31st @8-9am. I am excited that Pip's Doughnut truck will be on site! You will be able to drop off your supplies at that time as well. It's a win -win!
