Students were treated to a wonderful Harvest Party hosted by our Party Moms. Thank you for planning such a festive event, we appreciate you! We worked hard most of the day then enjoyed seeing each others' costumes, eating some dirt pie with worms, concentrating on picking up candy corn with chopsticks and making mummies. Take a look at the fabulous costumes and smiles!

You are Your Own Superhero!
We are starting a new unit titled, You are your own superhero! The first step was to research a popular culture superhero, note-take and write an informative article on them. We learned that informative writing:
Tells about a person, place, thing, event or idea.
Each paragraph has a topic sentence which include facts, details, examples or explanations. It also includes a conclusion. We also learned how to do a contour line drawing and using whisper lines as well as "nailing" the white when adding color. The kids did an amazing job!

Fantasy Island
Geography isn’t just about finding your way. It’s the jumping off point for dreams and imagination. If you’ve got geography, you're ready for adventure......
Students have completed their Fantasy Island project after our study of geography and the 5 themes of geography. We went through a process of creating a physical map which included our learning. Key vocabulary terms were included on the map. Finally, we wrote a description of our island which included the five themes of geography: Place, Location, Human Environment- Interaction, Movement and Regions. We met in small groups to brainstorm, revise, edit and inspire!
