Make Your Mark!

It has been a productive week. We are all ready immersed in our first project-This is Your Life Cereal.. we have learned how to work with thought and care, be mindful of due dates, as well as managing our time. Most of us are adjusting quite well. The finished boxes will be on display on Curriculum Night on September 11. The grade level presentation is at 7:20p.m. I look forward to meeting with you all.
International Dot Day is named for the classic Peter H. Reynolds storybook The Dot. Available in English and many other languages, the book shares the story of a girl who begins a journey of self-discovery after a caring teacher challenges her to “make her mark.” We have heard the book and as a grade discussed the importance of making your mark in the world. Dots were distributed and the directions are to decorate the dot in any medium. Write how you will make your mark in the world.
We would like the Dots back by September 15th or before. Here is a video clip of the story.
Thank-you for sharing your wonderful children with me.
